When entering symbols, it is not necessary to add any suffixes based on exchange. The only modifiers required are for Country Code. They are United States and Canada.
This is the default country, so you do not need to specify a Country Code when entering US symbols. For example:
Microsoft : MSFT
International Business Machines : IBM
Nasdaq 100 Tracking Stock : QQQ
When entering options, you must enter the symbol with the root separated from the month and price code by a space. Options symbols can be found using the Option Chain. For example:
Microsoft April 25 Call : MQF DE
For an exchange specific quote, enter the symbol with the exchange code as a suffix. The Exchange Codes can be found on the right-click menu of the Portfolio:
IBM (NYSE only) : IBM_N
When entering Canadian symbols, you MUST add a country code CA; to the beginning of the symbol. No suffix is needed to indicate TSE or TSX. All symbols are unique across the country. For example:
Nortel Networks : CA;NT
Imagis Technologies : CA;NAB
To get foreign exchange data, enter $$ followed by the Currency Codes of the currency you are going from and to. For example, to see what the US dollar is worth relative to the Canadian dollar, enter the symbol like this:
$$USDCAD
